On the few winter holiday week's I've been in the area, the park is fairly quiet with maybe only 1 or 2 other cars in the park. The town is like most medium sized midwestern towns. It isn't too busy hardly any time of the year. There isn't really a good place to stay warm and out of the wind at the park with the exception of your car so be sure to bring a heavy coat and gloves. Train traffic should remain about the same or a bit less than normal with the post Christmas lull.
