We’re planning to visit Zermatt end-May next year. Will there be skiing options for beginners - classes/ beginners slopes?
A:
For beginners, the skiing season in Zermatt is December to March (sometimes mid-April). At the end of May only the higher elevations might be open, but they are not suited for beginners.

Hi, I want to visit Zermatt in June for a film production. I want to make a wide angle shot where I am in the middle of the snow and the rest is completely white. But I do not ski and I do not intend to do this. Yes, you can ride the lifts up to Glacial Mountain Paradise without skis. We saw many tourists doing this. There are many fine places to eat on the way up. You have to take several …

Yes, you can ride the lifts up to Glacial Mountain Paradise without skis. We saw many tourists doing this. There are many fine places to eat on the way up. You have to take several modes of transportation -- tram, train, gondola and large gondola to get to the top. It took us about 1.5 hours to get from Zermatt to the top. All the transportation is accessible through the purchase of a lift ticket which was approximately $65 US dollars. BTW - the food available at the very top is very expensive -- about $28 US dollars for a burger. And the bathroom cost 2 Swiss Francs which could be applied toward a food purchase. You can step outside and take many fabulous photos -- the views are stunning. Dress warm and drink a lot of water!
