A school has introduced a ban on smartphones in an attempt to remove "constant access to the toxicity" of social media. Teachers at Boston Grammar School said since it introduced its Digital Detox in the summer term "noise has increased" because students are talking more.

Mobile phones have been banned at 44 schools in England over concerns for pupil’s health and learning. A national academy chain is thought to be the first of its kind to impose a blanket mobile phone ban for a total of 35,000 pupils.

Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath said that cellphone use in schools has an "extremely harmful" impact on students.

New rules say students will be banned from bringing phones to school for at least five days if they are caught harassing anyone online.
