Delays of two hours are expected on a section of the M25 after a "serious" lorry fire resulted in 10 miles of congestion, National Highways says.

Motorists are facing delays of up to three hours after a lorry fire on the M25 sparked huge traffic jams stretching for 11 miles. At around 1.30am on Friday a lorry carrying a load of metal sheeting caught fire on the M25 clockwise.

Traffic is being delayed by about two-and-a-half hours on a section of the M25 after a "serious" lorry fire resulted in 12 miles (19.3km) of congestion, National Highways says.

National Highways has warned motorists are facing up to three hours of delay on the M25 in light of an incident.

Drivers are currently facing 10 mile queues and long rush-hour delays due to a serious lorry fire on the M25. The incident has forced the closure of two lanes out of three on the clockwise carriageway between junction 5 (Sevenoaks) and junction 6 (Godstone).
