Researchers analysed microfossils inside the limestone of Jamestown's Knight's Tombstone to trace its origins in Europe.

Though it has long been known as a black marble tombstone, the investigation showed that the rock is actually black limestone, with enclosed fossils connecting the stone to either Ireland or Belgium.
