Just weeks before the November Presidential Election, Oklahoma Republican Governor Kevin Stitt announced the purges of over 453,000 voters Wednesday in a state with the lowest voter turnout in the nation.

Gov. Kevin Stitt says more than 450,000 Oklahomans have been purged from the state’s voter registry since 2021. While removing inactive and ineligible voters is routine, now is a good time for Oklahomans to ensure they didn’t accidentally get cut from the rolls.

Oklahomans will vote on gradually increasing the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour but not until 2026, angering supporters who are questioning the timing set by Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt. Stitt signed an executive order this week setting the vote for June 2026,

Attempts by conservatives to purge state voter rolls ahead of the November election, including from Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee, are ramping up, prompting concern from the Justice Department that those efforts might violate federal rules governing how states can manage their lists of registered voters.
