Elon Musk's social media platform X will present a Brazil legal representative to the local Supreme Court "very soon", the firm's lawyers said on Thursday, as the company battles a ruling that sought to shut down its operation in the country.

BRASILIA (Reuters) - Brazil's Supreme Court ordered Elon Musk-owned social media platform X not to try to circumvent a previous ruling suspending the platform in the country, at risk of a daily fine of 5 million reais ($921,726.95), a court decision showed Thursday.

Some Brazilian users have regained access to X despite a nationwide ban put in place by the country’s Supreme Court.

Brazil's Supreme Court ordered Elon Musk-owned X not to circumvent a previous ruling suspending the social media platform in the country, at risk of a daily fine of 5 million reais ($921,726.95), according to a decision issued late on Wednesday.

Brazil has fined Elon Musk's companies after some users in the country were able to briefly access the social media platform X, despite a ban imposed last month. Brazilian users swarmed the site on Wednesday after X updated how its servers within the country were accessed.

Elon Musk’s social media platform used a technical maneuver to restore service for many Brazilians after a court blocked it. Blocking it again would be difficult, experts said.

Elon Musk’s X told Brazil’s Supreme Court that it had appointed two attorneys to represent it in the country, nearly three weeks after a top judge ordered internet providers to block access to the social media platform in Latin America’s largest nation.

Elon Musk’s social media platform X recently became accessible to many users in Brazil despite a Supreme Court-ordered block. The platform bypassed the ban by using third-party cloud services provided by security firm Cloudflare,
