The 22" barrel has 9 inches of fluting begining near the end of the forend and extend down toward the muzzle of barrel ending about 2 1/2" from the muzzle.

Jan 2, 2019 · You also touched on what is probably the most salient point in debating the worth of a break-in procedure: Whether you follow a procedure or not, accuracy tends to improve on most rifles after a number of rounds have been fired through it, quite often 200 rounds or more. I do not believe that is strictly coincidence.

Jun 8, 2023 · Me and both of my sons have CVA Scout rifles chambered in 44 mag. All three shoot very well. The triggers are great. All three are stainless. I personally know 5 people with the Scout in 44 Mag and all 5 guns shoot very well. I do not know anyone that owns one chambered in any other caliber. I doubt you can go wrong with a CVA Scout. Darin

Nice handy carry rifle with 22" barrel that was accurate enough for my longest shot ever on a buck. I was shooting 200gr TSX @ 2875 FPS as loaded by Stars & Stripes. Good luck with the new rifle!

Many single-shot actions are actually stronger than a Marlin lever-action. The CVA Scout is chambered in 35 Whelen, which means it will handle 50,000 CUP (roughly 55,000psi) loads.

Jul 4, 2010 · I dont have any experience with the scout but have found CVA to be a decent company for the budget minded. with that said you cant go wrong with a handi rifle, extremly accurate and reliable as a rifle gets.
35 Whelen: no accuracy, tumbling bullets | Shooters Forum
Nov 4, 2016 · He texted me that he was getting "terrible" accuracy with his CVA Scout in 35 Whelen. He sent some pics of his targets and clearly something is very wrong. At 100 yards his groups are roughly 4-5" and the bullets appear to be tumbling, keyholing the target. His load is 180 grain Barnes ttsx with low to moderate load of either Varget or H4895.
