Nov 27, 2009 · The biggest advantage of all the commercially available valve body kits (for perfomance use) is that they dual feed the 3rd gear clutches. B&M's, TCI's, TransGo's, etc. All that I have seen do this. This takes care of the major hydraulic weakness in the TH350.

Dec 27, 2008 · I have a th350 i'm rebuilding now. I don't know much about its history, but it had a shift kit of some type in it so I don't know what to leave in or take out. It had only 2 check balls in it and some red and orange springs in the valve body and accumulator. anyone know what kit it was or if I should leave it or install a new one.

At least half a dozen shift kits are on the market for the TH350 transmission. They all share similar components and are designed to improve shift performance by increasing line pressure, volume of fluid to the clutch packs, and timing of the shifts for less overlap and shorter/ firmer shifts.
