Nov 15, 2021 · If based on the diagram, it is around 250-260 Nm, assuming Honda cvt is using top-notch push-belt. Subaru cvt have LuK chain type, which can take more torque abuse more than 300 Nm! So, I'm not sure if we tune more than 260 Nm, how long it can last... Perhaps another factor is the temperature and how long the belt is operating at that torque ...

It does mention that Honda just recommends changing it according to the maintenance minder.

Feb 11, 2019 · Honda says yes. Finally, it is already known for a fact, that these transmissions just don’t fail early at any significant frequency. If yours did, you are just out of luck and normally it would be replaced on warranty. I would go for either used or new CVT transmission, not remanufactured. Remanufactured geared - maybe, CVT - no. My opinion.

But they're quick, interesting, and pretty fun to drive. Turbos love 'em. Information on the OEM Honda CVT belt in the 10th gen Civics is extremely sparse.

May 1, 2020 · I haven’t seen CVTs as an assembly or even just a belt assuming you’d want to buy just the belt on a snap or the CVT as a whole. I’d guess $2-3k for a new one. While CVTs are fairly simple in operation and splitting the dry side to do a belt shouldn’t be overly complicated, it isn’t something most shops I’d expect know how to do.

Jul 24, 2019 · I can pop a side cover on my ATVs CVT and with an impact wrench, pretty easily take the dry side to parade rest and put it back together within an hour... replacing the clutch, variators and belt. On a car... the proper way to service it (and these CVTs are still being replaced rather than repaired.

I don't want to sound any alarms here, but I just had an interesting conversation with the local Honda dealer service tech with 25 years experience there, who stopped what he was doing and showed me yet another failed CVT. It had 60,000 miles on it and had had all scheduled services done there since new including fluid changes.

Dec 13, 2016 · The less power the engine puts out, the less stress on the transmission. 2) Don't tow anything heavy. 3) Change the transmission fluid when recommended (maybe even sooner). Use the proper fluid (Each manufacturer's CVT is built differently. Get the fluid that the manufacturer recommends).
