PC still thinks I have my old processor after replacement
Feb 1, 2014 · Not all went well since the old processor went off WITH the damn heatsink! No broken pins amazing! I'm not gonna use the old one anymore anyways. Well, that's not related to this topic, so let me ask my question. On my first boot with the new processor, I went on device manager and my pc still thinks I'm using the old one. That got me confused.

Stress test. if youre still having issues than it's time to upgrade the GPU, CPU, RAM, and Motherboard. Plus with a 10yo case your internal airflow is probably s***.

Whatever is there is what you have installed unless you messed around with something like modifying tracings or unlocking the CPU cores. Maybe run a BIOS update and see if that helps. I would remove the CPU and make sure what you think you have installed is what you actually have installed.
