SSD not working when plugged in via SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter
Mar 6, 2018 · Hello, I have recently purchased an SSD 120GB from Kingston A400 when i plug it in to any of the USB Ports it doesnt appear under this PC but when i click into the Task Manager it shows up. Anyone know how to resolve this since i want to clone my HDD onto this SDD instead of installing Windows 10 using Boot Device and Media Creation Tool.

The new disk is an SSD disk by Kingson 240GB and in perfect working order and NEW. The New disk and interface cable (USB to SATA) is working as evidenced by working on an Xbox One (tested) Issue

May 11, 2019 · Downloaded Windows 10x64 iso / media creation onto a USB (32GB) System Boots, Configured Bios to AHCI for SATA/SSD which the bios recognizes by name, and is 2nd in boot order and is in SATA Slot 1 (Nothing in M2). SATA Slot 3 is Empty (will be 4GB WD HD Later) SATA Slot 5 is CD Driver which Bios Recognizes and I can browse to during install.

What I want to do is use my desktop PC as the "host" and install the new Windows 10 Pro software to the SSD drive via a USB to SATA connector. My desktop recognizes the already formatted SSD drive. I'm concerned however that I might find myself installing Windows 10 to the desktop drive, which already has it.

Jul 8, 2020 · I have 3 disks on my desktop : 1 M.2 disk (boot disk) , 1 SSD drive and 1 HDD drive . Everything was working well until yesterday i was unable to access some files on the SSD drive . After restarting the computer the SSD drive doesn't appeared anymore . In disk management appears as "Disk 1 - Unknown - Not initialized" .

Subject has pretty much all the details. I have an internal SSD installed for my primary storage. When I downloaded the Windows 10 Update Assistant and ran it, it gave me the message that "you can't install windows on a usb flash drive".

Dec 14, 2022 · Bad usb hub. Connected external SSD directly to usb, voila! My seagate external drive does not show in windows 11. On my other laptop (windows 10) it is functioning o.k. The usb hub port is working o.k. with other devices. I do want to use the above mentioned external drive on this laptop under windows 11!!! Any functioning advice???
