Apr 2, 2021 · You really need a scanner designed to do this. Those scanners will have a lighted backing that illuminates the slides. Another solution is that if you have a good digital camera there are light tables out there now that you set the slides on and then take a digital picture. A good camera will often provide better results than a scanner.

Jun 9, 2014 · I'm scanning 35mm slides using Epson Scan 3.9.2.2 in Professional Mode, with the Thumbnail tab selected in the Preview window.<br />I noticed that the resulting images were cropped. People's heads are cut off (Oh, the humanity!) and worse. The "Document Size" fields say 1.26' x 0.80", while an actual slide image is 1.31" x 0.90", as measured.
