So PEX up to the valves (3/4 inch almost all the way until the last few inches) and copper from the valve to shower and tub spout seems to be a pretty clear solution for water pressure. Unless I decide to just go for 3/4 -inch copper for the valves, too.

In the the wall I have a 1/2 brass drop ear elbow firmly attached to a block. The surround is 3 piece and the spout/control end requires at least 2" of vertical play to drop the end into the slots on the back wall.

Aug 30, 2008 · And when I turn the spout, the white plastic bit, and everything else which is inside the spout, turns as well. So if the screw is somewhere else inside there, I can't access it. I tried to immobilize the white plastic bit inside that notch so I could try and turn just the spout but not the inner bit, but I couldn't do that either. Any other ideas?
